Allan Brooks was a naturalist and artist who
illustrated many books in the early part of the twentieth century. He
lived in a cabin on Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, studying and
painting birds. In 1906, he painted illustrations for the The Birds
of Washington by William Leon Dawson, which was published in 1909.
Eventually he illustrated thousands of birds from around the world.
