Dr. Robert Ridgway an ornithologist and curator
of birds at the Smithsonian Institution from 1874 until 1929, founded the
American Ornithologist's Union and wrote many books including a study of
North American birds and Birds of the Galapagos Archipelago and illustrated
many of his books with bird art.
John Ridgway was chief
illustrator for the United States Geological Survey, the scientific
illustrator for the California Institute of Technology and the Carnegie
Institution. His works include oil paintings, pencil drawings, brush
drawings and pen and ink illustrations. Search for books
