Print Plans & Dimensions (below) Model Not Yet Available.

Blonde Pine

Open Front & Sides

Corrosion Resistant Screws

Pre-drilled Countersunk Pilot Holes

This model has an 8" by 8" base, approximately an 8" ceiling, an open front and partially open sides. The gable roof provides extra head room for doves, as they are larger than the other platform nesters.

Mount this platform on the side of a garage or shed over looking both open spaces and foliage in your back yard from seven to fourteen feet high. Carefully select a location that provides a balance of protection from predators, elements, access, visibility, and varying sunlight.

Do not mount in a tree. Make sure objects that cats and squirrels can climb do not provide access to the nest. The idea is to simulate a cliff edge. They like to survey a wide berth from their roost.

Robins, Phoebes, Blue Jays, Song Sparrows and Barn and Cliff  Swallows may use this nesting platform, although the mud pellet nests of Barn and Cliff Swallows usually adhere to vertical surfaces just beneath ceilings.  They may utilize this model minus the floor.

Catbirds and Brown Thrashers also occasionally nest on platforms.  See discussion on platform nesters.
